On January 12 2010, a 7 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti, leaving the poorest country in the Americas in ruins. The earthquake epicenter, located only fifteen kilometers away from the Port-au-Prince capital, took three hundred and sixteen thousand lives and is considered one of the worst human catastrophes in history.
A short while after hearing the news, rescue teams from all over the world traveled to the island to try and save the inhabitants trapped under the ruins in a fight against time. Felix, Oscar, Paco and Eugenio, members of GEBOCYL (Specialized Firemen Group of Castile and Leon, Spain), accompanied as always by their rescue dog "Turco," responded to the call for help and took part in one of the rescues with the most media coverage: little two-year old Redjison was dug out 48 hours after the earthquake, turning the boy into a symbol of hope.

El 12 de Enero del 2010 la tierra sacudió Haití con un terremoto de 7 grados de magnitud, convirtiendo al país más pobre de América en escombros. El epicentro del seísmo, situado a escasos quince kilómetros de la capital Puerto Príncipe, se cobró trescientas dieciséis mil vidas y es considerado una de las catástrofes humanitarias más graves de la historia.
Poco después de conocer la noticia, brigadas de salvamento de todos los países se desplazaron hasta la isla para tratar de rescatar a los ciudadanos atrapados bajo las ruinas en una lucha contrarreloj. Félix, Oscar, Paco y Eugenio, miembros de GEBOCYL (Grupo de especialistas bomberos de Castilla y León), acompañados siempre del perro de rescate “Turco”, acudieron a la llamada de auxilio y protagonizaron uno de los rescates más mediáticos: el pequeño Redjison, de dos años, fue desenterrado cuarenta y ocho horas después del seísmo, convirtiéndose así en un símbolo para la esperanza.
